Negatives:

  • Unless school has software to monitor student’s screens, they may get distracted while creating projects.
  • Could be on inappropriate sights or playing games if not following expectations.
  • Student’s need access to technology at home to get onto the website/app.
  • School needs technology for students to access Sutori during school hours.

Would I use Sutori in my classroom?

I could definitely see myself using Sutori in my classroom. It is a great and easy way to stay in contact with both parents and students outside of school. The ability to publish weekly newsletters allows the parents to get a constant glimpse into their child’s classroom. Also, Sutori allows the teacher to post work assignments which can then be accessed and worked on by each student individually or in a group.

Would I use Padlet in my classroom?

I could see myself using Padlet in my classroom due to its simple set up and use. The students would be able to easily access the site or app and comment on teacher’s posts. Padlet allows for teachers to be creative and  post homework assignments, newsletters and do classwork online and monitor all student’s answers. Padlet could allow students to get a break from handwriting all of their work and allows the teacher to get back to all students quicker and more  efficiently.
