Reflection #8

The three tools that I would use in my classroom are Quizizz, ActivInspire, and Google Classroom.

quizziz

I would uses Quizizz in my classroom because it is a quick and easy way to create formative assessments for your students. It would help with assess if all of your students understand the content that was taught and can help the teacher learn if there is something they should review or improve the lesson for next time. I chose Quizizz over other websites because of its intuitiveness. It is simple to use and walks you through the steps of creating an assessment. The teacher can select what type of question; multiple choice, short answer, fill in the blank, and matching. Also, images can be incorporated into each picture. The teacher creates a quizizz and gets a game code which the students then enter along with a username. They do not have to create an account to be able to use Quizizz. Their scores are instantly scored and results are put  onto a chart to show the teacher how many students got each specific question right or wrong.

Another tool that I would use in my classroom is ActivInspire. This tool is an interactive software that the teacher can download and use on their computer and Smart Board. The software allows the teacher to write on and move pieces on the Smart Board. It can help enhance a lesson by making it more hands on for the students. The teacher could use base 10 blocks and have students complete a problem by moving around the blocks on the screen. Also, teacher can upload files such as word documents or PowerPoints to ActivInspire and then use any of the tools such as the highlighter, pen, shapes to help bring students attention to certain parts.

The third tool that I would use in my classroom is Google Classroom. This tool allows the teacher to post any homework or classwork assignments online. Only the students and possibly parents that the teacher gives access to can join. This tool allows for teacher to put the homework online incase any student forgets it or might need extra clarification. Also, in classwork students can use google docs or powerpoints in a group and then post it into the classroom for the teacher to view. It removes using an excessive amount of paper and helps students that struggle with staying organized. Google classroom also keeps all of your previous work so that you can look back onto it for review or correct it. For the teacher, this helps with recording data incase you want to check the growth of a student or need to show the student’s work to their parent or the principal. Since this is a google product, students will need to create an account which then gives them access to all of google’s supports such as the drive, screencast (on chrome), Gmail and other tools.
